ComboCC - Clinical Costing System

ComboCC is a comprehensive clinical costing system that provides hospitals with the ability to track resource utilisation and undertake cost/revenue analysis at the patient episode level and below. This can include, for example, inpatient and outpatient episodes.

ComboCC provides hospitals around the world with a powerful management tool they can use to measure and improve efficiency.

With ComboCC, our aim is to automate your costing process so you can focus on the outputs.

ComboCC provides hospital managers and clinicians with the ability to:

  • Analyse the cost of resources consumed by patients for each day of stay (nursing, medical, operating theatre, pharmacy, medical supplies, pathology, imaging, and so on);

  • Analyse cost data at a variety of levels. Cost data can be analysed by patient diagnosis or procedure, patient classification, cost centre (such as ward or operating theatre), department or specialty. Since ComboCC costs the individual resources consumed by patients, data can be aggregated using a wide variety of selection / reporting parameters

  • Benchmark the cost of delivery of services to patient cohorts;

  • Conduct utilisation reviews for different patient cohorts. For example: time on ward, time in theatre, time in specialised procedure suites, diagnostic tests, prescribed drugs, and so on.

  • Monitor adherence to or variance from established clinical pathways or protocols;

  • Monitor profit and loss at the individual patient level by funding model;

  • Undertake ‘what if’ scenario testing. ComboCC provides a tool through which changes in environmental factors can be modelled into the future. This enables hospitals to answer questions such as: what happens if I lift the occupancy of this ward?, shorten a waiting list?, increase the capacity of my theatre?, and so on.
